From my experience and according to research having a parent/caregiver included in therapy increases success in most cases. However, I honor the child’s request and will have solo sessions if they request to do so, or if I feel it is necessary.

Yes! I find it incredibly helpful to have parent information and education sessions. Sometimes the purpose of these sessions is to better help me understand information we are processing with your child, sometimes it is for me to provide you with psycho-education regarding presenting challenges/concerns, and other times it could be regarding us discussing implementing new or additional strategies in the home environment to aide in treatment progress.

Toggle Contenta The course of treatment varies greatly from individual to individual due to variances in diagnosis, trauma, presenting challenges/concerns, and goals for therapy. I have done successful short term work with a handful of clients, however other clients require longer term treatment of 2 years or longer. I will honor your time and frequently communicate with you regarding your status in treatment based on our mutually agreed upon treatment goals.
